Kon Mari

I've finished reading the Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo.
I also have it on my audible app, which I'll listen to when I have time to solidify certain concepts in my head.

I love the concept of tidying up just once. Keeping whatever sparks joy, what you absolutely love and discarding the rest.

This makes sense to me although I have not yet started the process in its entirety. I've mastered the folding concept and will fold things using this method when I am folding laundry.

Designating one space for each person in the family. Having your own space makes you feel happy. Everyone needs a sanctuary.

Marie Kondo says to tidy up using a particular method in a particular order. One must pull out everything in one category, put it all into one place before one can start tidying.

Following the right order in which things must be tidied is crucial:
  1. Clothing
  2. Books
  3. Paper
  4. Electricals
  5. Paper
  6. Miscellaneous
I've gone through the clothing and it truly does make a difference and, as funny as it sounds, it absolutely does spark joy.
